PAW business breakfast – SOLD OUT

Focussed on Privacy – living in the future, the PAW business breakfast will explore issues around the intersection of privacy regulation and technology.

The Australian Privacy Commissioner, Timothy Pilgrim will give an annual update on the work of the OAIC. This will be followed by an introductory speech from Mark Pesce, futurist, author and inventor, who will also MC the panel discussion.

We are offering a practical workshop that will de-mystify and simplify the PIA process facilitated by Anna Johnston, Director of Salinger Privacy. This capacity building workshop is geared towards Project and IT Managers and Privacy Contact Officers working alongside project teams.

Fred H. Cate is a Distinguished Professor and C. Ben Dutton Professor of Law at the Indiana University specialising in information privacy and security law issues. He is managing director of the IU Centre for Law, Ethics, and Applied Research in Health Information and appears regularly before Congress, government agencies, and professional and industry groups.

This webinar is designed to provide training on the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), the regulatory powers of the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), and ways that the OAIC handles complaints, and promotes and encourages privacy compliance.

If you’re a new privacy contact officer, or new to the Privacy Act 1988, this introduction to the APPs will be a valuable tool for you to develop your knowledge and compliance skills.
