Q3.  Why is it necessary to securely destroy documents?
Answer: Federally mandated Privacy Legislation requires businesses to destroy sensitive data rather than simply discard information. Q4.  Can Shred-X supply a general paper recycling program?
Answer: Yes, through our subsidiary, Australian Paper Recycling, Shred-X can provide a complete paper recycling service.

Q5.  What is the difference between paper recycling and secure document destruction?
Answer: Paper recycling is a Shred-X service offered to those organisations who have non-sensitive office waste paper and are conscientious about the environmentally friendly removal of this product. All clean office waste paper collected is transported to our manufacturing plant for processing and recycling.

Sensitive data for secure document destruction is shredded immediately within 24 hours of its arrival at the Shred-X processing facility under the supervision of security bonded personnel. Shred-X secure shredding facilities have full security including 24 hour CCTV surveillance.

Only after the sensitive data has been shredded does it go through the recycling process.

Q6.  How secure is the destruction process?
Answer: Security and confidentiality are the integral priorities of Shred-X. Secure processes including investigation, training and ongoing monitoring of employees, maintenance of vehicles and our destruction process is imperative to Shred-X.

Shred-X personnel are security-bonded and police-checked prior to employment and are fully uniformed with photo identification. Upon employment, Shred-X personnel sign a confidentiality agreement and undergo strict induction and training processes.

Shred-X vehicles are clearly signed, locked, satellite tracked and alarmed. Once your data enters a Shred-X facility, it is secured by fully trained Shred-X personnel, monitored by 24 hour CCTV surveillance and is shredded under supervision within 24 hours.

Q7.  How can I be assured that sensitive documentation has been destroyed?
Answer: Material for secure document destruction is shredded within 24 hours of its arrival at a Shred-X facility, under the supervision of security bonded Shred-X personnel. Shred-X state of the art shredding facilities have full security including 24 hour monitored CCTV surveillance systems. Shred-X provides a Certificate of Destruction as a guaranteed record of destruction issued on completion of the destruction process.

A nominated representative of your company is welcome to personally supervise the destruction of your sensitive data.

All visitors arriving at our facility must provide identification and be signed in by an authorised Shred-X employee. For those customers wishing to view the destruction process of their organisation's data, a pocket-less jacket and security pass is supplied for any factory visit and clients are escorted by a Shred-X staff member throughout their appointment.

After all, at Shred-X our business is making sure NO-ONE knows your business.

Q8.  What type of data is necessary to destroy?
Answer: Any organisation that holds personal information including but not limited to names and contact details of individuals, information about personal services they have accessed and personal identification information, has a responsibility by law to ensure the protection and secure destruction of such confidential information during its disposal. Q9.  Can you shred other items apart from paper?
Answer: Yes, Shred-X not only securely destroy confidential printed material, but our industrial shredders are also able to destroy other media such as Cd's, DVDs, tapes, videos, clothing, computers and microfiche as well as many other products. In fact, Shred-X should be your first call when you need to destroy sensitive product prototypes, quality control rejects or counterfeit objects.

Q10. Do I have to prepare my materials for destruction?
Answer: No, Shred-X use only industrial-grade shredders capable of destroying entire files, binders, dividers and other storage media including Cd's, DVDs, videos and microfilm.
Q11. What happens to our material on completion of shredding process?
Answer: Upon completion of the destruction process, the shredded product is baled, packaged and transported to a processing facility where it is recycled into a number of products.

Answer: Shred-X has a range of containers to suit any volume requirement from small to large and there is no limit as to the quantity of product or frequency of collection.
Q15. How often are the containers emptied?
Answer: Shred-X provide regular services ranging from daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly scheduled servicing through to temporary and one off collections.
