Nick Karos

Founder/Director 
Shred-X Document Destruction was founded by Nick Karos. Nick has owned and operated successful businesses in the service industry for over 25 years and established Australian Paper Recycling in 1999. With changes to Federal Privacy Laws, Mr Karos identified the need for a more secure, professional and competitive document destruction organization that could offer this secure service nationwide. From this idea, Shred-X was born. Nick currently shares his time between all Shred-X state offices overseeing all aspects of daily operations

Van Karas
General Manager
Van Karas has a Bachelor degree in Science and a strong background in education. Van has over 10 years experience in the secure document destruction & paper recycling industry. As General Manager, Van oversees the senior managers in the management & operation and growth of the Shred-X business and is responsible for the financial and operational performance of Shred-X nationally. 

As the Global Board member for National Association of Information Destruction (NAID), Van is actively involved in championing industry certification standards for registered members of NAID Australasia and liaising with the Office of the Australian Privacy Commissioner. 
Van is passionate about growing the Shred-X business and protecting the environment through the Shred-X paper fibre recovery and recycling program.
Marva Mills

Financial Controller
Marva began her career with the accounting firm Ramm Louis and Co. in London, and has been working in finance for 20 years. After qualifying with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and also working in a broad spectrum of industries, she relocated to Australia. Marva is also now a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia, and joined Shred-X in 2007 when the company became part of the NZ listed ‘Freightways Group’. With a strong background in management, financial reporting and strategic planning, particularly with companies experiencing dynamic and sustainable growth, Marva manages the Accounts teams at head office and Shred-X’s satellite offices.

Gordon Hockly
Victorian Branch Manager
Gordon has been with the company for over 5 years and started off overseeing the Document Storage department as well as selling Shred-X’s secure destruction services. Gordon’s extensive knowledge in information management, specifically relating to client’s document and media storage requirements enabled Shred-X to grow their document storage division from a few hundred boxes to in excess of 7000 boxes in a relatively short period of time. Gordon moved on to head up the Sales team before being transferred to Melbourne to take on the “ caretaker” role as the Branch Manager in 2009 and has since been appointed as the Victoria Branch Manager.  Gordon’s knowledge in industrial design and manufacture has enabled the Victorian team to improve productivity and develop new value add grades of recycled paper. The Branch, with its group of positive and committed staff, continues to meet budgeted expectations.
Paul Bartlett
Production Manager
Having migrated from the UK 4 years ago Paul joined Shred-X in March 2006 and has 22 years management experience in production management in the cardboard box packaging industry. Paul is now responsible for the Shred-X group of production methods procedures and the supply and disposal of recycled paper fibre to various paper mills in Australia.
David Brewer
Operations Manager
David has worked in management roles in the security and service industry for over 23 years. David has a wealth of experience in operations and logistics and manages a team of over 27 staff including the Shred-X drivers and logistics team.
Andrew Odisho

Sales Team Leader
Andrew commenced his career with Shred-X over 7 years ago starting in the production department before moving into Logistics as a Document Destruction service driver. Andrew has always displayed his willingness to learn and progress within the company. In 2006 Andrew moved from Logistics and joined Gordon Hockly in the Document Storage department. Andrew quickly mastered the O’Neil’s Document Storage software system and became an integral part in the department’s expansion. Andrew indicated that he was interested in a Sales role and when and opening became available he moved across to the Sales Division. Andrew’s enthusiasm, passion and keen attention to detail soon saw him become the Sales department’s top achiever and was recently rewarded by being appointed as the Sales Team Leader.

Chris Spy

NSW Logistic Manager

Christopher Spyropoulos began with Shred-X over ten years ago as a foundation employee after having owned and operated his own business within the hospitality industry for many years. Throughout his time at Shred-X, Chris has worked in many areas of the business from being a service operator, Area Sales Manager and now to heading up the Shred-X operation in Sydney. In this role, Chris is responsible for the daily management of the branch through to Shred-X’s provision of service throughout New South Wales.

Robert Aminde

National Projects Manager
I have been in the Supply Chain and Operations capacity for over 25 years.

Within the Records Management / Document Destruction industry, I have been in senior positions at Ausdoc State Operations Manager (18 months) (until the business was acquired by Recall), Recall Secure Destruction Services (4.5 years) – National Operations Manager & Business Manager.

I have recently joined Shred-X in 2011 as their National Projects Manager to introduce national structures and facility enhancements.
My experience base has covered a number of other industries such as B2B, Retail and Clinical Waste.
